THE BLUFFS ARTS FOUNDATION

The Bluffs Arts Foundation was established in 1998.

The Foundation has its own Board of Directors which meets on a quarterly basis. Money given to the Foundation is invested, and the income is used to help pay for the art programming of the Bluffs Arts Council.

The Foundation is very excited about its support of an arts-in-education project that is sponsored by the Bluffs Arts Council in area schools. Artist-in-residence programs have been funded in part by the Foundation's Jane Kuper Memorial Fund. Jane was an avid reader, and her memory is honored each year through the artists and students who come together to share her love of the written word.

The Foundation exists through gifts of all types, be they donations, bequests or memorials. Gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible and are recognized in the Bluffs Arts Council's quarterly newsletter. Birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions can be remembered through gifts to the Foundation.

A special endowed fund -- such as that established in memory of Jane Kuper -- can be established in the name of any individual, couple, family or other grouping. An endowed fund can be established in one of two ways: (1) with a gift of $10,000 or more, or (2) with a gift of $2,000, plus a written commitment to give a total of $10,000 or more within five years. Establishing an endowed fund can include a discussion about the type of art project that best honors the person(s) so selected.

Gifts made in a will or other estate-planning document should be designated as made to "The Bluffs Arts Foundation". For additional information, please contact the offices of the Bluffs Arts Council at (712) 328-4992.
